Die Playa Herradura liegt ca. 10 Minuten Autofahrt nördlich von Jacó in einer kleinen, geschützten Bucht, die gut zum Baden geeignet ist. Der Strand hat dunklen Sand und zum Teil schattige Stellen. Herradura war früher vor allem bei den Einheimischen beliebt, die oft am Wochenende hier grillen oder Familienfeste veranstalten. Zum Teil ist der Strandrand am Wochenende von Autos zugeparkt.
Heute wird Herradura vom 5-Sterne Hotel Marriott “Los Sueños” geprägt. Am nördlichen Teil des Strandes Yachthafen im Umfeld des Hotels liegt die Marina Los Suenos. Hier liegen unzähliche Yachten, Boote und Schiffe, die man zum Hochseefischen mieten kann. Zahlreiche neue Restaurants und Souvenirshops sind entstanden. Trotzdem ist der kleine Ort noch immer einen Besuch wert, in den Restaurants am Strand kann man leckere Fischgerichte essen.
